Among my favorite things to do is watching the brilliant colors of the sunset
on the warm embracing waters of a remote beach in Nayarit, Mexico.
A dramatic tropical storm lends to the still humid air a security and tenderness,
likened to a lovers passionate kiss.
The rhythmic pounding of the surf vibrates with the strength of a strong steady
heartbeat, echoing the force of the dark sun bronzed flashing eyed fishermen,
as they throw their nets to the foaming rolling tides.
The salt air, filled with the ancient beginnings
and a promise of a new tomorrow,
when the dawn will again hear the sharp cries of the soaring gulls
as they dive greedily for the small silver fish cast upon the sparkling shore
and brown noisy children race to bid their fathers,
the oyster divers,their morning farewell.
The steady gentle slap of the waves as they fall upon the shell encrusted rocks is
mirrored by the steady clapping of the work worn hands of the proud handsome
women in their endless daily toil of preparing the
soft fragrant corn tortillas, the life blood of Mexico.
Suspended here between the timeless scent of the sea and the aroma of wood fires
intermingled with the rising familiar smell of smoking fish, I find deep security,
inner strength and profound peace.. And as I gaze into the setting tropical sun I give
thanks to the Creator for this, my very special playground,
Nayarit...
A very special "Thank You" to all my many friends at MiraMar, Nayarit
ArlaMacias
This page was created as a special tribute to my many friends in MiraMar
while I was still in the North and missing them.
I am now living happily in Miramar..
Some things have changed...The houses are better,
tortillas are delivered to the door and people are not as poor as they were..
If you would like to invest in businesses - large and small,
start a water sports area, build cabins, etc., the possibility is here.
The beautiful ocean awaits you, the oyster divers are still here.
With a little coaxing and a small fee I can get them to take you diving or on a boat ride.
Mira Mar is locatedabout 27 km. south of San Blas, within walking distance to Santa Cruz.
Help me find a small solution to their economic crush... Please!
